Saturday May 5th, South African artist Shameez Joubert (Taipei), and Chicago artist Macedonio Guerra (Seoul) invite you to view and celebrate their year long collaborative project aptly titled, #tpe2icn. This project fostered a concerted effort between both artists to develop distinctive and unique pieces of art and multimedia installations. #tpe2icn’s opening party at Oomph! will also feature DJ Kou (Tokyo) & #tpe2icn contributor Macedonio Guerra. The DJ sets will be live-streamed by Taipei Community Radio 台北聯合電台. ---------------------------- Visual Exhibition / Multi-Media Installation / Live DJ Performances - DJ Kou /// (Tokyo) - - Macedonio Guerra /// (Seoul) - Date: 5/5 (SAT) Time: 5PM - 10:30PM Entry: 200NT (At the Door) Fine selection of alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks sold at our in-house bar. ---------------------------- [ About the Show ] This project was initiated with the purpose of encouraging each artist to push their creative boundaries and to explore what is possible through mutual support and collaboration. A theme was established biweekly and each artist was to submit a piece of work based on their personal interpretation. They’d like to share the results of this year long project with you in hopes of inspiring creatives to find unique and fun ways of keeping themselves accountable and continue growing. To keep producing works, and developing their skills with intent and discipline. [ About Oomph! ] Oomph! is a movement & art space aiming to spark new ways of thinking and doing. We like naivety, honesty, and vulnerability. We like colors and experimentation. Located in the basement gallery of Invisible Salon at Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, we wish for the space to be active and welcoming to all people regardless of their background or personal tastes. It is an inclusive place, where anyone can participate and create. We hope the exchanges that take place ignite exciting collaborations, thereby contributing to the arts and music culture in Taipei. Lastly - we want to have fun. We wish to create lasting memories through organized exhibitions, studio workshops, concerts, and conceptual parties that serve the community and its artists.
